Last summer, I was invited by my friend to visit our high school classmate who came from Manila and was spending her summer holiday in their place. She told me the details of our visit. Thusly, I prepare the things we needed and gas up the motorcycle. Thinking that the road to their home is wide and passable by a motorcycle, I prefer to wear a short. At exactly 6:00 o’clock in the morning of the following day, our journey commenced. As we enter the entrance to their place, I noticed it’s surrounded by trees and high weeds.
When I saw the trail is slippery and risky, I felt uncomfortable and frightened off in driving because I did not wear a helmet on our trip. What, I did, I just focus myself on the trail and drive slowly.
Moments afterward, we noticed that the trail was becoming sharper and more rugged. With loose stones, sharp rocks and hilly inclines, this weather-beaten path can certainly give a challenge to me. It’s my first time driving in a forest. A breathtaking drive!
When our guide arrived, we took a pose and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the forest despite the risky path. All the worries to get lost were worn out.
Whenever we encounter a sharp and rough trail, my friend Leah often stepped out from the motorcycle and enjoy taking us a nice snapshot.
Even though the trail is approximately 4 kilometers, it was still a blissful, wonderful and slightly exhausting drive. It grants me a dozen of incredible snaps of the awe-inspiring panoramas of the forest.
And so, we moved on with our ride passing by a lovely spot with great vistas. On our way to the home of our classmate, it’s more challenging and interesting because there was a multitude of slippery and tough spots.
After nearly an hour of driving, we’ve reached the abode of our classmate which is located in the middle of the forest. The house is made of Nipa. They have no neighbors as well as electricity. They used a makeshift lamp with kerosene or a solar lamp to light their home at night. A simple and modest life, no gadget at all.
As I interviewed my classmate, I learned that they have difficulties in handing over their supplies at home. The only appliances they have is a radio. Likewise, I noticed that there’s no faucet in their house, so, I ask my friend if where they got their water and she answered me that their source of water came from the nearby stream. Coincidentally, her sister was heading to the stream to fetch water, I volunteer myself to go with her and when my friends heard me, they accompany us.
Going to the stream is fun. It’s only 250 meters’ away from their dwelling.
Every time we saw a nice spot, we made a quick halt and took a pose.
This is the stream where they get their water to drink and where they took a bath. The water is clear and clean, and it is safe to drink because the source of it came from the mountain.
As we head back home, I ask myself, what would be my life is living in the forest? No electricity, no internet, no gadget and etc…and then, I just smile to myself and thank God to have an awesome experience in my life. The ride I won’t forget throughout my life.
I am looking forward to my next adventures in my life and I hope God will allow me.

This is indeed a breathtaking ride, I'm sure it was hard to ride a motorcycle in this kind of terrain. I am looking forward to your next travel or adventure. Keep steeming!
