Making lots of $$$ here on Steemit off of YouTube videos YOU DON'T FUCKING OWN

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Okay, here's the thing: I won't be naming names, of course, but... I keep seeing more and more Steemians making money here on the platform just by simply embedding in their posts popular YouTube videos they clearly don't own.

Now... my personal opinion is: you should never upvote those particular posts.

It just gives Steemit a very bad reputation.

Just my two cryptocents.

Let me have your thoughts and feel free to resteem.

It would be a good standard for users to turn off payment for posts that are just a YouTube video.

What do you think if the user posts a video but also includes a paragraph or two of text which adds insight / context?

I fully agree when all they have is a youtube video and 1 line of writing it's stupid, no one should upvote them, if on the other hand they have wrote out an article and are using a video to show something in relation to the article and they clearly state they take no credit for the video whatsoever then that's ok in my books

If they add some value to the video then I think they deserve something. I would hope that Youtubers are able to see that their videos are getting played within Steemit and will come to investigate. They are likely to make more than they do just from Youtube

My opinion is: people should downvote them and / or report them to @steemitcleaners.
However, perhaps we can tolerance this at a degree. We want different types of contents.

Your "two cryptocents"

I got a kick out of that!
