If you're like me and don't have your steemit keys saved anywhere special. I'm sure I have them somewhere, but I'd have to dig through a bunch of files and maybe multiple computers to find them. Anyway, I always simply used the auto sign in function from my computers and smartphones browsers to access the site. Easy Peasy. After they changed the wallet site with NO NOTICE you will now need your key to access the wallet site for the first time. Here is how to get your key from your browsers saved password function.
From Chrome
Open the Chrome menu using the button on the far right of the browser toolbar.
Choose the Settings menu option.
Look for AutoFill, Passwords, click > arrow.
Scroll down the list and look for the steemit website
Click the eyeball looking icon next to it
My computer prompted for local admin username/password before displaying the information but after putting this in VIOLA! MY KEY! Which I then used to sign into my wallet.
Also save your keys in an easy to find and easily accessible (to only you) area. Also fuck the steemit admins for temporarily locking me and hundreds/thousands of users out of their wallets with no fucking warning at all. What a bunch of fucking douchebags. And good luck retrieving your keys!
