With hf19. Steemit decided not to be a store of value because the software publishers for the blockchain are no longer incentivized to store value here. Many other chains such as Dash and NEM have there own mechanisms that are still in place to give them the potential.
I still use steemit because I love it better than other social apps but I know that as a currency it was just a bridge to far.
