Everyone is trying to figure out how to write a popular Steemit post, so I thought it would be interesting to share my most popular post ever -- and the story behind it.
The History
About 9 months ago the media was railing really hard against Barron Trump, son of President Trump.
I found this to be rather tasteless and so decided to write a little blog post about it along with my thoughts as to why little Barron might seem awkward.
I'm not sure what it is about Steemit and Google analytics, but for some reason my page really took off on Google searches, taking the #3 spot in results for how tall is Barron Trump.
This is quite a surprise, and in fact, there is a funny story about this kind of like a 6-Ways-to-Keven-Bacon deal...
The Story
I had recently met a few members of my wife's family in Utah.
We stayed with them for about a week and had a really great time and go to know each other pretty well.
A few weeks after this, they were looking up how tall Barron Trump is on google. They started reading an article and found that they really liked it, and at the bottom they were surprised to see that the author of the article was... ME.
Quite a surprise, indeed!
The Numbers
As of the time of this posting, my Barron Trump article has 38,000 views and counting.
I don't know how this ranks among other popular Steemit articles, but I'm willing to bet that it's one of the highest traffic generating articles to Steemit.
Anyway, I just thought this was a cool thing to share with everyone. If you have any thoughts as to how or why this happened, I'd like to hear them. :D

So are you say the article had a lot of traffic because you put on google?
I'm saying that Google picked it up and made it a top search result. Perhaps it's because it's an obscure yet high-traffic search term, or perhaps it has something to do with the way that Steemit tags its posts -- or both.

For being such a popular post, it sure didn't get a lot of money ($0.00) or comments (1).
Maybe it brought some new people into the fold? That would be an interesting study.
