A job is not the ends, it's a means to an end. People don't want a job, what they want is wealth. When things are mass-produced, those things become much cheaper. A world in which most tasks were done by robots, everything would be so innexpensive that even the poorest would live like a king.

It'd only be inexpensive if we had money to spend. In a world where most tasks are done by robots, but those robots are owned by the corrupt, it could be possible that most people don't have any money at all, and because jobs don't exist, they'd never be able to get even a single nickel.
They would have to pledge their allegiance to a corporation or a rich person, and they would be one of the few who do. Huge masses would simply starve, as there is no work to be done, and prices never go down, because the robots are owned by the corrupt.
