Steemit - Is it worth it?

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

After being here for more than a month now, I really feel quite tired. I asked myself if it is worth it? I do have to spend a few hours on Steemit reading and writing, commenting and curating. I check my voting power regularly to ensure that I do not over curate and I check my earnings quite regularly too.

It is rather tiring and time consuming and I don't even make much. WHen I compare this to day trading, the earning from Steemit is very dismal. I invested 1000 Steem here and I hardly make 0.1 % a day but if you count it for the year, then, the return will be more than 25% which is as promised by the likes Minnowbooster & Smartsteem.

25% is a lot of ROI coz in the real world, this is unheard of. But with 1000 in Steem investment, this is going to take forever.

So, I really need to reevaluate this situation.

There are Others Ways to Earn at Steemit:

1. Create content & curate content

2. Delegate your SP

3. Sell your votes

4. Lease your SP

Marketplace where you can do action 2 to 4:

  1. Minnowbooster
  2. Smartsteem

Thank you for the information. But even here you have to be an educated investor to know where to invest. There are many proposals, but the finances are always limited.

You are so right there.

This is a timely post because i'm currently asking myself if steemit is worth it. I'll explore all options listed and then we'll see...

Thanks for the post.

I'm @tomfreeman!

Hi @tomfreeman, glad to hear from you. In the long run, steemit could increase in value & then it could be worth it

Thanks so much @simple-me for the words of reassurance.

A very timely post, as I am also considering if Steemit is worth it. I am new here, and have no idea how to lease or delegate my SP. Hell, I don't even know what SP means! Not sure how to go about selling votes either...

Also, is it just me, or does Steemit looks more and more like a pyramid scheme of sorts? It seems like it needs new users to be viable...

I am still learning about Steemit. Not much help to offer but if you head on to minnowbooster or smartsteem, you can do quite a lot there.
I am not sure about it being a pyramid scheme but I certainly hope not coz I bought 1000 steem to invest here.

Thanks for the tips! It can't hurt to try at any rate. I couldn't find a website for smartsteem though - do you have a link?

Hi, here's a link to smartsteem.

Smartsteem

Hope it helps.

I'm pretty new to steemit and so far I like it. It's not important to me if I make money here or not. I like the concept of the platform and will support it. Thank you for the info, @simply-me

Glad you like it here. Have fun
