RE: Steemit: Business or Pleasure?

in #steemit7 years ago

Of course, the creation of more communities while helping people through them [with charities for example] is a completely plausible and interesting thing to do.

Yep, we definitely think so in the @YouAreHOPE Foundation too!

Good read, thought provoking, but never forget, steemit inc is NOT the steem block chain and vice versa. Very important distinction. Critical, in fact.

Cheers

Thanks for that but I re-read my post now and I only mention Steemit here as an online platform, not the Steem Blockchain. The word 'blockchain' I mention it only regarding Steemit being a 'blockchain based social media' -which it is... It is indeed a critical distinction, but my post is about Steemit.com - as a network, as an online space, and -of course- as a blog. Obviously though, the fact that it's blockchain based [so everything stays forever] and reward giving [so people earn] has a lot to do with more people joining -Businessmen, or not.
Maybe I misunderstood your comment? If so, please clarify ;)

It's just so frustratingly common that users do NOT realize the difference, that in the past year of endlessly clarifying it over and over and over ... and over some more... that when I read your post, I saw the possibility of still more new users (and many who have been here the whole time too sadly) continuing to confuse the amateur blog makers with the open source power chain of choice.

More to the point, all the things you want can and are happening without steemit inc involved at all. But steemit inc, will always be subject to the whims of their corporate nature and their amatuer management team.

Yes, but I do and I sure hope it doesn't seem from my post that I don't [bad writing if so]... Now, if someone gets confused...well, I hope they read our comments at least haha :D
