Thanks for the article. I get a lot of upvote bots who upvote my material, compared to real people, until I share to minnowpond. I'm not complaining, but it's kind of discouraging sometimes.
Now when I buy upvotes from minnowbooster, a bot called stealthgoat follows me around and comments that I used their service as if I did something wrong. Do you use minnowbooster, and if so does that happen to you? I followed stealthgoat just so I could mute it.
It can keep you from being picked up by a curation service like @OCD or @curie if you buy votes. These two FREE upvote services can shoot your post to well over $100 but will skip if bot bought votes are in play.
I did notice that: ocd curated a couple of my posts before and resteemed once, and Curie did once, and those times I didn't use an upvote bot. The thing with Curie though is that it's designed to help out newbies with a rep of 52 and under, so you and I are no longer eligible for Curie.
You can be rep 77 and get a curie vote now, your work just has to be outstanding. Please don't spread information that you're unaware of.
I apologise, but last I knew that was the case, which was only a month or so ago. Being unaware that it changed is not my fault and you don't have to be rude.
LOL, sorry. It's just that there is so much disinformation being passed around because people don't research before they post. It is hurting a lot of great accounts that could be doing very well if they were given up to date information.
Nice info for newbies like me!
If you put ocd-resteem in your tag there is a better chance of them considering your post. :)
Thank you for that great info!
Based on the experienced steemit members, buying upvotes is like an advertisement to your post! I guess when we do it over-excessively, it causes a problem with doubts to the quality of our post. I don't really see this problem with those who used upvote bot so far. It could be just an isolated case.
