All we do is convince a Witness to do the work for us. The witnesses need witness votes to elect them in the top positions which cost you nothing. Just promise to use a witness vote for the witness that gets the job done.

Just promise in the comments below and I will take care of alerting you if a witness competes the challenge.

Witness Votes:

Everyone has 30 witness votes to use that doesn't affect their daily voting power or earnings.

Question:

Hey @socky, will using my witness vote reduce my voting power?

Answer: NO. The witness vote is different form the normal voting system. You have 30 witness votes to use at any time and it doesn't affect your voting power, daily vote allotment, the number of Creator/Curator votes, or Steemit rewards

Hey @socky, how long does it take to regenerate the witness votes.

Answer: There is no regeneration time. Everyone always has 30 witness votes. Example. You use one of your 30 witness votes on a witness for the first time. Now you have 29 unused witness votes and 1 used witness votes. One minute later you change your mind and unvote that witness. Now you have 30 unused witness votes.

To get our vote for witness, here is what the witness needs to do:

1) Get SBD or STEEM listed on a major exchange

2) Provide proof that you were instrumental in the exchange listing of STEEM or SBD

I will periodically blog the status and the total list of people that will be willing to vote the Witness that gets STEEM or SBD on a major exchange. I will also provide the total Vests reward for the Witness.

Once we have a witness that accomplishes this challenge, I will send out a reminder notice to all people that have made the promised to go ahead and vote.

Pleased leave a comment below that you will promise to vote on the witness that completes this task.

Netcoins is an OTC exchange. The word exchange is used very loosely with Netcoins, but it is not really an exchange. Money is exchanged, but not by market buys and sells. Think of it like when you are on travel and you use an exchange booth that exchanges cash. You are not actually trading on an exchange even though you are at an "exchange" booth. What is really happening is that the exchange booth has cash of different types on hand and will buy your cash below the market value. That is how they make money. In the case of OTC exchanges, a trader would consider it a rip-off. For that reason, an OTC exchange like Netcoins will NEVER generate trading volumes that will ever influence the STEEM market.

The answer is no. We need to get STEEM or SBD listed on major exchanges.

Ohh well thank you for the clarification! Good to know how that OTC “exchange” works.
I’m still pushing for Coinbase honestly I think it would set a trend for Steem being listed across all the major exchanges.

And besides StellarX, STEEM & SBD are also listed on the other DEX running on Stellar.

Witnesses are not going to do that. I could just pay people to join this effort, but I will not do that either. The witness voting is an electoral process to pick our leaders and payment for votes has no place in this process.

If STEEM becomes popular in all exchanges, the price will increase. That is how you will benefit. This is your best chance to make a difference.

I see what you are saying. Some witnesses are creating, funding, managing, or operating various pay upvote services. I think the community will realize how much they are being played by those services and the majority of the community will eventually turn on those witnesses. I see a virtual bloodbath coming when upvote service becomes a "bad name".

There is a difference between what you are doing and what those bots are doing. You have 6,096,880 Vests to vote on a witness. I'm sorry to break it to you, but that amount is nothing compared to what a witness needs to get to the top 20 where they start to make any earnings. Those upvote services are making serious bank for the owners. Compare that to the combined 528,363,062 Vests that we have as a collective to vote on the witness. That is almost 90 times the value of your vote. All the witness needs to do is get STEEM or SBD listed on a major exchange. If they won't do it for our vote, I highly doubt that they will spend any money on your vote. I think it would be different if you were a whale with over a billion vests. If you were a whale, you wouldn't worry about the money, instead you will have the witnesses doing what you tell them to do.

You still have all 30 of your witness votes. Just promise one of those votes to the witness that gets the job done and makes your STEEM more valuable. Do what you want with the other 29 votes.
