In some cases they are powering down to fund other accounts or to move steem around.. Not always selling it, I would expect the price to drop if whales sold a bunch not rise.

I see more people signing on than whales cashing out though. You may be right...

    I agree but when someone send Steem and SBD to blocktrade or other crypto exchanges, the matter becomes different.
