No - I think they are likely long dead or very elderly - would be too dangerous for their health! I emailed the information department of one of the "chemical" companies that was allegedly involved. I suspect they won't respond but I want to give them a chance at least. I have also contacted someone to ask if they will send me a copy of a paper on mercury toxicity - sometimes people will send them to you if you ask nicely but obviously people are busy too and they may just think you are a joker trying to scam a free paper!
Thanks! I don't do it for all of them but for the more in depth ones where I don't think they are time sensitive I do. Also if the papers are behind a paywall I've started contacting the university departments directly - sometimes they respond and give you a copy of the paper quite fast. It is harder with older papers because you need to try to find one of the original authors.
