Indeed. If you read the White Papers, it pretty much says "if you can do it, do it; there is nothing built into the system to stop you".
And now with rumblings of bitconnect being a mlm scheme (multi level marketing scheme) and it's connection to those promoting it here....
I encourage you to find and read the White Papers (at least steemit has one, apparently bitconnect does not).

I get asked if things are "allowed" frequently. It's not whether or not it is allowed it is how the community will react to what you do.

5 flags - Rep of 50 down to 5 overnight - from one user for asking him if he believed his tactics here are moral and ethical (his habit of flagging for the sole purpose of returning rewards to the pool and then high-value self-upvoting to basically confiscate that from which was flagged). It doesn't take much if you upset the wrong people here.
