RE: Steemit is NOT a Social Media Platform - So What Is It?

in #steemit7 years ago

Agree @paulag! Steemit is far from being easy money alright. We see statistics and get worried about retention rate, but as you put it clearly enough, Steemit might not be for everyone. While I believe that everybody has something to offer, if anyone is to succeed in this platform he/she has got to be willing to continuously learn to improve in terms of quality (value addition), and engagement (marketing yourself and the value to add).

It is quite a struggle for me personally in terms of where to allocate my limited time, as I know many others are also struggling.

About limiting the displayed post between platforms, this gets quite tricky. I still feel there should be a common place where contents from all front ends are displayed. A place where any form of contents can be upvoted and commented on. On the other hand, we might need an app exclusively displaying text and image form content with some criteria for what goes there. So when you want to get entertained by memes you go to one place, to see a video format another, and to appreciate amazing photos in another. If one wants to read a real blog there needs to be a place exclusively for that as well.

I love this post. No more than I love your data posts, but this one is thought provoking in an entirely different way.
