Definitely need an obvious link back to Steemit. You could have used the banner that is showing after the change to notify people that this was coming. I think the wallet page needs some extra text front and centre to say that it is actually part of Steemit and what the impact is. That could be via linking to a relevant post.
I can see why you made the change, but it has to make the transition easy for any user, regardless of technical ability or native language. Multi-lingual should be on the road-map.
I see this does not mention ads. That's a whole other can of worms :)
I just noticed some other issues with the wallet. When I did a transfer the popup did not close even though the transfer completed. Now I have lost the menus for transfer etc. The latter was because it logged me out :( I'm using Chrome on Linux.
