If you are new on Steemit then you may think it's like other social sites where you are limited by what the main site can do. Steemit is a more open infrastructure. Anyone can access the blockchain and process that data in interesting ways. They can also provide extra features that the main site doesn't offer.
Here are some you should check out:
- Steem tools is the hub for add-on apps
- Steemithelp goes beyond the Welcome and FAQ pages, but you should read those anyway. Steemit is a little tricky to understand and it takes a while to grasp the concepts.
- SteemWhales and Steemstats give you lots of extra stats about Steemit. You can see how you are doing as well as checking on others.
- If you post too often then it can negatively affect what you will make. This posting status checker tells you if it's a good time for a new post. I can't swear it's 100% accurate, but I use it anyway
- Finding people to follow can be tricky. Steempixel provides a tool to find people based on who you have been voting on
- Your follower count should rise in time, but it's interesting to see if they are actually active. This tool does that for you
- Steemvoter can automate some voting for you. I know some people are against this, but there are people I want to support even if I'm asleep or away from a computer
- Steemchart gives you the latest Steem, Steem Dollar and Bitcoin prices
I use all these. What are your favourites? What other tools would you like to see? I'd like to try some Steem programming, so I'm looking for ideas.
Great list, thanks! :-)
I would also add https://steemdb.com/ - great way how to analyze your steemit activities, for me probably the best curation rewards overview there is.

That's another good one. We're overwhelmed with stats
Thanks! As a noob this is really helpful 😊
Happy to help
Thanks for the useful list - I have a similar list on my blog which I've just updated with a couple of your ones.

I have or currently use just about every link on your list - or at the very least have them in bookmarks...except for Dead Followers! HOW COOL! I just checked it out to see how many "true" followers I have. Only one question about it. I know it documents when the "dead followers" last posted but does that mean they're really "dead"? I think some of them only curate content.
To @mynameisbrian - is that something that might be added to your awesome site?
absolutely useful, thanks @steevc
Thanks your right these are all very useful tools to have. Like this one ...

It's worth looking through Steem Tools now and again to see what's new

You can see a very precise reputation on Steemwhales. I'm at 65.82. May take a while to get to 66
