I post on a variety of topics and Steem is part of the mix. I think things may change when there is far more activity here so that there are more interesting things to attract the masses than discussing the platform itself.
You may have seen my current project to increase the number of minnows under #tenkminnows. The fact that they were not increasing is a symptom of the issues here. We don't just want to be an echo chamber. The active community is tiny compared to others. When there are millions here, including big celebrities you will see a lower proportion of Steem posts.
We have other issues with certain people fighting each other and spamming the system. That is not helpful. They overestimate their importance.

Overestimating one's importance seems to be a first-world cultural problem that's spreading. It's been refreshing being in Thailand and Vietnam where that doesn't seem to be so epidemic.
I think you're right, this will change as it grows, but I've been posting less and less about Steeitit and more and more about other stuff, this post excluded.
It's interesting to note though how many more comments a Steem-related post gets. We just love to talk about Steemit on Steemit. It's almost nauseating sometimes. Hahahahaha!
