I’m using the eSteem app and can interact with the STEEM blockchain so that shows the decentralised strength of STEEM.
Could be another DDoS attack?

      That’s true but there is always a reason or reasons. From what I have read there have been a number of DDoS attacks against Steemit.com in recent months and also growing pains of the increased user numbers could be a reason.
      My point was mainly that being a decentralised blockchain based social network STEEM is resilient to these interruptions as it can be viewed and interacted with via multiple entry points @esteemapp, @busy.org, chainBB, @zappl etc
