RE: How about a daily Lotto on Steemit?

in #steemit8 years ago

I thought the whole attraction of Steemit was that anyone could succeed just by putting in the work doing some writing, creating content that people love, sharing cool things. I think the idea of a Lotto skews things away from the fairness of if you work for it you earn it. Just my thoughts! :)

That was the glory idea, but it failed, because the power was given to the wrong people.
Now its stuck in an idiotic circle jerk. I'd come and stay on the site if I would FIND the content which is interesting to me, but thats not the case. Content isn't trending because users searched for and viewed it, but just for monetary reasons, which is a death spiral for the whole concept.

Content is shifting in type, though the power of a few can indeed skew what becomes truly visible. :(

We just gotta get rid off all these wannabe bloggers, who never were successful anywhere else but here. Now they rule the place and don't want to give it away again, imposing their rules on the concept to protect their stakes.
