I think it's always better to put positivity out there than negativity. The universe has too much negative energy going out into it from the people on this planet as it is. Be positive, be kind, and it will not only come back to you, it will help the world be a better place.
Also, if you're doing anything to make money, you should always put out content you think your audience will enjoy, as they are your fan base, and the ones generating dollars for you. This doesn't mean you can't do what you love or talk about things that interest you. But, if you're doing anything to make money, you need to find your passion, then find your audience, and cater your offerings to this audience.
Of course, if you're just doing Steemit for fun or for the joy of writing about whatever you want and don't care about building an audience, that's cool, too. You'll probably still get an audience of some kind, anyway, because your posts will resonate with a certain group of people.
When it comes to Steemit, do what is best based on what you want to get back out of it. But, I still think it's better to be nice and kind and positive, even when disagreeing with someone.
A good friend of mine I've known since we were both 14 and I recently had a lengthy debate on Facebook about a particular political issue where our opinions were the exact opposite. Everyone who read it said how amazed they were that we could disagree so vehemently, while still being so civil and nice to each other. Part of that is based on decades of friendship where we've agreed on almost nothing, but part of that is just knowing how to treat your fellow human. We can be nice and kind and civil with each other, even when we don't agree. Just treat others as you would want to be treated, and they will usually respond to you the same way.
Thanks for going deep with your reply. I appreciate it.
Go deep or go home. ;) I like to contribute something useful to the conversation if I can. I really enjoyed your post.
