I have been pretty out spoken on many things over the last year and I have been pretty transparent yet, some people who perhaps don't actually read my content make some assumptions. For example, when I was joking about selling everything I had for Steem and powering up in chat last night, someone suggested I delegate to a bot instead.
Now, I of course can't flag the bidbots, what good would it do? If however I could reduce the incentives to use them or get rid of them completely I would. I am not going to find all the examples but, here are a few where I speak about them:
10 days ago - Bidbots and you - A foretelling
16 days ago - The coordination of Steemit's present for the future
Great.
Now, some hours ago someone transferred 4 SBD to a bidbot (Jerry Banfield's) and bought a vote for me. Thanks, they must have loved the content of my last post.
I actually didn't realise the vote came in until many hours later but, there it is. What made me check was that @jerrybanfield had also voted last night on a Helsing post from a couple days ago and then I saw on Steemnow.com another (much smaller) vote and then one from postpromoter and upme. Why would he use his bots?
I actually messaged a good and knowing friend I trust on the platform to say that something weird is going on and someone is taking the piss. Pretty funny... So, then I checked my wallet in case I had been sleepwalking and actually did it myself and there was this:
BTW, I do not know what 'Love GC' means, so if you could transfer me another 1 SBD over from Bittrex to explain it, that would be great.
Firstly, what will I do with it? Probably power it up as it is relatively insignificant but perhaps when I delegate it out to someone, they will be able to use it. Of course, if @jerrybanfield wants to remove the vote, I don't mind either but the 4 SBD goes to waste. Personally, buying some Steem with it seems the only good option. Maybe I will donate it.. Who knows.
Self-voting, alts, and family are the same as Haejin. Really?
~3 months ago - Taking Delegation
~2 months ago - giving up delegation?
26 days ago - The community/self split in free delegation?
My self-vote percentage has been creeping up lately and sits around 40%. The reason it has creeped up is two-fold, the price of Steem and that I am trying to get my VP toward 100 so I don't drop down into the low 70s anymore (Almost there). Oh, I pay for my delegation by the way, 100 STEEM per week so the price of steem and the conversion from SBD matters. Curation returns about 35-40 STEEM and what I self vote covers the rest because I convert the SBD to STEEM. Yep, I can still make a bit of profit and share the rest out.
Oh Family? Yes, I vote on them too, and my alts. Oh, I also delegate 6000 of my own STEEM Power out to people. In the last week I think I have voted about 550 times and on over 200 different accounts. Around 50% of my vote value doesn't go to family or alts (@smallsteps, @taraz). Btw, When smallsteps reaches 1000 SP, that little girl will lose her delegation and will trail my account I think.
In the last year or so I have handed out 22,000 upvotes and considering that I have 1350 posts and don't upvote my comments, that is quite a few going to other people who are not me.
As said, I have been pretty open with my journey here and even though I have probably a few bones laying around, overall I am pretty consistently doing what I can for the community and, I am relatively certain that there are many people here who would likely feel that I have helped them in some way along their own journey. I know that there is a debt I owe to people for helping me and, I generally pay it forward.
For me, there are two reasons, I want to grow.
Firstly, I want to be able to look after myself, my family, my daughter and get a return on the massive amounts of work I put into this platform in many different ways. I think everyone is entitled to get something out.
Secondly, I have onboarded about 20-30 people in the last 6 months, most in the last 3. I am delegating to 21 non-family people currently, some because of a delegation contest I ran, some because they are new and I want to support them through the start, some because they needed it, some because they are wide roaming curators. I want to do more of this in the future and have the power to help them be strong members of the community.
So, how about this, I am pretty sure I know who you are but, how about stop with the passive aggressiveness and just transfer from your own account? Where is the cost to you? I am not going to flag you because you disagree with me, I am not going to shame you or anything of the sort as I am open in my actions, even when they amounted in failures or where based on bad information at the time.
4 days ago - All bark, no bite
I understand that being outspoken comes with a certain amount of targeting. I understand that not everyone agrees with my views or how I act. I understand that most people in this world are not going to like me. I understand all this.
For the last year or so, my journey here has twisted and turned, had ups and downs, periods of high support and long periods of close to zero. Every day I spend between 8 and 12 hours mostly writing with a few hours in chat.
I run a one-person business, I have an 18 month old daughter with severe allergies and a wife who is a full-time student at a university in another city. I sleep on average 4 hours a night with a 15 minute nap after work, I then spend a few hours with my family and after my daughter goes to bed, I begin writing.
I am open, how about you?
One more piece to leave you with perhaps.

Don't let these people get to you. To be fair, you have nothing or noone you need to for accountable to. You've shown already multiple times that your vision and actions are to benefit the community. You've been nothing but accommodating and altruistic. These people can say what they want, but they're simply not right.
It doesn't get to me but, it is these kinds of things that can shake other things, which, is probably the point.
The title caught my eye and yes I do think that is what happens.
I posted about STEEM changing humanity yet asked if Steemians are ready for that? I do not believe we are. There are still a lot of games played on here, similar to what takes place elsewhere. I am a believer that we need to work at uplifting each other, not tearing each other down.
This is much more than just a social media site where one can make a bit of money. It is a test run at a decentralized state. Without a system of authority in place, how do people behave. Do they operate in a mature, ethical way that helps the entire ecosystem move forward? Or do they behave like children operating from the "it is all about me" mindset.
This is a dilemma that the entire world will face as more stuff becomes decentralized over time.
Thank you for the post.
Yes, there is a problem if the people who want to change the rules act based on the rules they have learned.
I agree and at the moment, we are failing as there are too many out for themselves and too many unwilling to do more. Most act on habit.
love GC = love good content . I'll send you the bill for 4 sbd as an invoice in the post! lolol
People can't stand transparency (except as a virtue signal).
As you probably know, I make clear glass look murky, so no issue here.
I am too stupid to be opaque. I would be the worst politician ever.
i think in computer terms, and if we are all part of the same whole (which I believe) .. when we lie to each other it is like data corruption. now the person receiving the lie makes decisions based upon false information.
to large degree, self-integrity is most important. we can't expect our perceptions to be accurate all the time, but we can trust ourselves to tell ourselves the truth, if we make it important ; )
I think you will find that title has already been bestowed upon my head...😂😂
Oh my God, really??? Thanks for that! [yep, didn't get it either...]
You obviously do your bit in your capacity, truth is... not everyone would understand. I have been following your blog for a while... practically stalking you and learning from a distance. I notice the way you always pour out your heart on this platform and maybe when I get the audience I will tell you some other things... haha
Point is, not everyone likes an open book, most prefer mystery, others like average. Either ways they cannot live your life for you.
Keep inspiring me from a distance and should you retract, I will fly over seven seas to shake you back to reality.
yours truly @klynic
nuh never mind!
Edit for being dim.
would be good if it was, he can delegate to Helsing ;)
You do a lot more for the platform and the people here than most. Although it can be uncomfortable to get into situations like that, don't let it get you down. You pay for a delegation and you have to pay the bills. Even if you were self-voting at a much higher percentage, you still give a lot away. And you add a lot of value to the platform through your thoughts and articles. I think you're making progress in regards to being heard. Hopefully things will break open for you soon and you'll start getting more support/recognition.
Be happy, maybe this will push your suggestions forward. Everything everyone does get's more attention. More attention to a good idea is never a bad thing.
You're putting out good idea's so enjoy the attention and the free gift. There is always that old saying, never look a gift horse in the mouth. I think that is the term, too lazy to google it.
Keep being Taraz and fuck the haters.
It was me!
Damn it, I was going to say that!
Normally it comes with nudes, I feel cheated...
People will always hate others. Take care of your family first. That 1 thing will decide if you are a good or bad person in my book.
I want to be on your level but i know it wont happen without hard work so i do the same as you. When i have free time i put my effort into earning a living for my family any way i can.
the title of your post capture my attention because i am one of those people whom you are reffering to by saying " desperate people do desperate things. As read down ,i found out that truly you are outspoken and that behaviour pays alot because people will know who you are truly.Seriously, i need a delegation power but being a newbie here , i have not establish a strong relationship with people for them to help me but i trust and believe that i will be going to be among the newbie you will be delegating the power to.i know that judging by merit i am not qaulify to receive such grace from you but trust me by giving a chance by risking your power for the sake of delegating it to me .i strogly believe that you will not going to regret doing that.thanks in anticipation.
perhaps if there is another competition in the future.
Wow this is Mr taraz pouring out his heart . By the way, who is this guy poking his nose into your business? He really needs his eyes on his own plate.
You shouldnt let these guys get to you at all. I know it can be annoying and you would love to clarify issues but sometimes just ignore them.
Aha i agree with your opinion .
It's true that Desperate people do desperate things.
Always love your post and love the way you share your love with people .
Bless up buddy @tarazkp
Nice post, I wish you luck for managing your life that sounds harsh but exciting :)
maybe gc = grumpycat?
My dearest,
I just got the chance to read this post [saved it a couple of days ago ].
I'll keep it saved though 'cause I need to re-read and re-read - too much information to absorb at once :O
I essentially keep this from all of it because that's my point too exactly:
''Firstly, I want to be able to look after myself, my family, my daughter and get a return on the massive amounts of work I put into this platform in many different ways. I think everyone is entitled to get something out.''
That's why I'm working that hard and begging everyone for delegation lately.
We will survive.
Rainy hugs from CPH
