The future of Migrate2Steem.com

in #steemit8 years ago

So what's the plan?

The goal of migrate 2 steem is to get more mainstream bloggers onto steemit. We will achieve that in three ways.

1. Create tools for WordPress, Drupal, and all the other CMSs out there to do the following:

  • Not change anything they are currently doing. If they post through WordPress, they still will.
  • The post will still show up on their site, however, it will be hosted through the steemit site in an iframe or through some JS library so that visitors don't know the difference, but google will only see steemit.com as the location of the blog.
  • Comments back and forth. Someone comments on steemit, the tools will comment on their site and vice versa.
  • When they post, it will add the post onto steemit and load it on their site without anything looking different (other than search engines). Why wouldn't they switch?

2. Post their blogs abbreviated with a link to their articles on Steemit before they migrate. When they migrate, they get all the Steem Dollars their posts have collected. The more the Steemit community likes their posts, the more Steem Dollars the post will have collected, enticing them even more.

3. Migrate2Steem.com Will have forums, FAQs and anything else to help people migrate to steem.

This will create a strong incentive to migrate. I will also create automatic posting tool that will post all the abbreviated blogs and the amount of Steem Dollars each have collected.

If you like this idea, please recommend a blog in the comments! If you have questions, please also ask in the comments. If you don't like it, don't like this post :)

Thanks!

Waiting. I wish to migrate from own wordpress blog immediately )

I am sure lots of people do. This is a great idea because current bloggers will need to change nothing.

Wow i really like this Migrate2Steem (ツ)

website no longer exists:

Do you have ETA?

Last I heard they are looking for developers to help. I unfortunately do not have the time to help.

I like the idea ... would allow me to post on my blogs and here as well. Right now they are basically in two separate silos .. this could create a bridge if I understand you correctly. ... maybe they need to setup a notice list so people don't miss posts on here?

The main problem with this is the fact that Google does not like duplicate content. If Steemit gets the origination, then the blog/CMS will be considered a duplicate?

So, you no longer have a custom domain? I see this as a bad idea, because the traffic belongs to steemit, not you, and developing that audience for them is the same as developing it on any other platform, it's a subdomain you don't own it, the rules can change at any time, without your consent, and outside your control.

Did you flag this post because the author flagged your comment from a bot?

Another comment bot??? WTF... is there anyone real here?

Seeing how comment bots are easy to make, perhaps not sharing the comments between the sites! Lol

Bleep bleep.

Yes Im a real person @taz . :)
