RE: Why I am quitting steemit - and you should too

in #steemit7 years ago

He abuses flagging and downvoting. He bullies people into leaving. If there's nothing to do to discourage this behavior, the platform is deeply flawed.

I came back to try and make steemit better. Ask just about anyone who knows me. I've offered my help to anyone who'd take it - from utopian to minnowbooster to esteem to busy to ANYONE WHO ASKED. Why am I being punished for this?

I honestly hope there's something to do to save this platform. Until then, it's nothing more than an engine for botnet scams for bernie and the likes of him. And that just makes me so sad. Especially after all the time and energy I spent trying to help the community by supporting new users on Discord and offering to help anyone who has the platform's success in mind. And that makes me a "total moron" as he keeps calling me for actually believing steemit is a good and positive place to showcase my work.

Boy, was I wrong. I regret ever joining at this point.

Sort:

Helping bad people is equal to harming good people, karmicly, imo.

They just ignore anybody who asks for help and pretend like there's nothing they can do about it. They're shooting themselves in the foot.

Think they will care when the price goes below a dime again?

This makes me sad. As in, sadder. I was already sad.

@andrarchy offered a potential solution.

"...a community lead initiative with elected members that has enough SP delegated to it to punish bad actors..."

Surprisingly, to me, I've seen this work, in an organic spontaneous way, in the last couple days.

Something more formal, as @andrarchy proposed, could work.

Then you could stay, and I could keep my silly grin every time I see your username =p

I am sticking around. Peer pressure works. Just not posting right now. Only commenting LOTS and curating and considering my next move. Also, waiting for this all to blow over.

Also, "...a community lead initiative with elected members that has enough SP delegated to it to punish bad actors..." sounds a lot like steemcleaners with some resources.
