Steem power is here to stay! We cannot look at each component separately to see the ultimate accumulation of steem through holding power. The ability to curate, make more on posts, AND yearly interest together make a pretty decent incentive. 1.5 percent does not look good, but if one is actively involved, the potential percent increase/year would be quite significant. I have about 3200 steem power. I was averaging about 8 steem/week before the hardfork on curation alone. So making over 500 + steem and also considering that you can make money on your own posts is for sure significant. 500 or more on 3200 steem power is about 16-17 percent/year. For sure trying to keep that power
