Steemit needs iframe support!

iframes would be a REALLY cool thing to support in posts.

I develop games and apps with BYOND, and could embed small, interactive games and tools in post form.

These tools could be as simple as managing contest and lottery entries, all the way up to full fledged games in which steemians can compete against one another, or work together solving complex puzzles. The possibilities are truly endless!

What do YOU think? Let me know in the comments!

I totally agree with this idea! I am Starting a Coding Community on Steemit #codeonsteemit check it out if you're interested! :)

That sounds cool! I'll be sure to use that tag on my next dev blog!

Hello @thatsweeneyguy, I think it's a good idea in prinicpal, but open to abuse. People could embed malicious scripts in their posts, so that probably why it was not added already.

Yeah, I guess I didn't think about things like that...

But if people did share bad stuff, they could then get bad reputations like people do get already you know, right? There are always going to be ways to do bad stuff, spam, ads, viruses, fishing things, etc etc.

Thank you for resteeming.

I've missed a couple, but I try to participate every day. I'll be featuring you in an article I'm writing today all about contests, games, and giveaways.

Thank you. I am looking forward to.

noooo :'(

if i put html iframe code it says:

(Unsupported http://pano.pi360video.de/bodensee/bodensee.html)

I have beautiful 360° pics, that I usually embed as iframe... maybe any other way to make this embed work?

Missed the upvote on this post. :-(

I just spent 2 days analyzing data from the steemit database and creating an interactive dashboard. I then went ahead and wrote a post only to try and embed the interactive dashboard for it not to be supported.

I have an online RPG that I plan to link with the steem blockchain for rewards. I have the ability to embed the game in an iframe, and would have put it in posts, but can't.

I will be creating a website for it to embed to, and link it in posts, but that's an extra step the user has to take, AND, it would take the user out of steemit, which I wanted to prevent.

Can we invent D-beds? AKA Decentralized Embeds, and Dgames, and D-internet, and D-Google, just like we already have http://d.tube and http://dsound.audio, http://dlive.io, http://alpha.steepshot.io, and http://busy.org, etc etc?
