I once had a friend tell me one doesn’t really get to go all the way to the top without getting his hands dirty in some way. This got me thinking about a lot of things. We are all supposedly born innocent with our minds having a clean slate and a conscience that pricks harder than a needle. As time passes, experiences start to print on our slates. These prints are instructions that create a mold that ultimately forges who we are and people start to have a perception of us. Some of us still tend to maintain that innocent state for a long time before we start to let go of ourselves piece by piece until the past just becomes a pleasant memory we want to re-live when we close our eyes to sleep each night.
There are two schools of thought that govern the concept of change. The first insists that people never really change. They only get better at pretending
thus, one is either one way or he isn't.
The second school of thought views change as a process. People in this sphere basically believe we were made with flaws and all and one needs to make conscious efforts to do better. Thus, the human race is a broken toy that needs fixing.
The image above captures what people in this circle really think.
What does change mean to you? when does it really occur?
