What potential information that can be found using three of the biggest Social Networking Sites:
One can take Facebook (FB), Twitter (TW) & LinkedIn (LI) independently and as an aggregate to find out VERY personal details about someone, “the subject.”

  • FB and TW will reveal family members, close friends and acquaintances by simply looking at the frequency of communications between the subject and others.
  • Pictures from FB and TW will help confirm those relationships and also places that are frequented by the subject.
  • LI will show what schools the subject attended, fraternities/sororities, professional associations.
  • If they list any special licenses or certificates one can now know another few sources to gather more information.
  • FB literally has a timeline going back to birth but doesn’t get more detailed until the subject joins FB. There is an option though to backfill special events that occurred between birth and FB birth.
  • TW & FB will also let one know what events, rallies, concerts parties, clubs it that the subject has gone to and even scarier where they will be at a certain point.

I will end this one with a real life situation I did to someone who had WAY too much information posted:
Whilst I was on Google+ for a total of 17 minutes and I ran across a profile of a lady. It was barely filled out but her HOME ADDRESS was right there for all to see. So I mapped her address, screen grabbed the street view of her house and emailed her everything saying, “Looks like a nice neighborhood thank you for letting me look around.” She, needless to say, emailed me freaked out and thanking me for bringing that to her attention.
