It's summertime, and who doesn't love a garden?

Gardening can be an enriching experience, providing a calm satisfaction as the gardener cultivates their crops. A lot of times, gardeners start off in their own backyard and go it alone.

Community gardens are a wonderful space for a gardener to practice this craft, along wiith and with the help of others. Growing your crops alongside others can even be beneficial to them all, either because of sharing nutrients, benefiting from good pollination sources, etc...

Virtual Community Garden

Welcome to the grand opening of my virtual Steemit Community Garden! There's lots of room available to grow whatever you desire!

Grab a plot of land and plant a seed! 🌱

To start your garden, claim a plot by simply commenting! Just comment what you are planting, and add something interesting!

For example, you could comment

Corn
I like corn because it is yellow and makes my tongue tingle

Okay, that's a bad example, but you get the idea 😜

What's next?

Every good gardener knows that when you plant a seed, it needs water to grow!

Since this is a virtual garden, the blue water comes in the form of an upvote.

So once you plant your seed, help out your neighbors by watering theirs, and they will do the same and give your seed some water too!

Harvesting

In this virtual field, things grow pretty quickly! Harvesting is one week after you have planted your seed! The more water it gets, the better the harvest!

And there's even a community fair where prizes are awarded!

What kind of prizes?

In order to be elegible for prizes, all seeds must be planted before Monday, July 3rd. There are three prizes!

Each prize will consist of a 50% vote power upvote by me. Prizes will be awarded Tuesday, July 4th.

Prize one is for the most upvoted comment. If there is a tie, the comment with the least dollar value will be awarded.

Prize two is for the least upvoted comment. If there is a tie, the comment with the least dollar value will be awarded.

Prize three is for the comment that generates the most replies. A community garden is a great place for people to come together and have conversation. Interesting discussion is important in creating a community bond. Replying to your own comment does not count. Also one word replies or nonsense does not count. Thank you for understanding!
