I don't know if you have heard but Viglink, Skimlink and Rewardstyle are already doing something like that. Instead of users, the advertisement campaign is paying the bloggers who promote their products and they receive payment ONLY when the user buys the promoted product. What is the gain of the advertiser if a Steem user click on the ad only to get the $0,01? Companies want to increase sales, not simply "lose" money paying users per click.
Facebook already provides a lot of information to marketers or third party companies. Is Steem going to provide our personal information to marketers?
Snapchat was already a unicorn before they started to put advertisements in the app. Unicorns have their value based on how markets and marketers see them. Simply said, if Steem increases its subscribers' numbers (and that is still not enough, high engagement is valued too)
Do not misunderstand me, I would love to see Steem become the biggest unicorn ever.
