One thing I'm a little worried about, after looking through some of the people who were asking to be a part of the community on another blog is -- Some of them do not even blog about homesteading. The point is to have people who blog about homesteading, right? I realize you said that you vetted them out yourself, but I am wondering how many people have asked to join and end up that they aren't even people who do ANY sort of homesteading? Maybe it's something that should be added to your post as a requirement for joining. ?

yeah a lot of them have different interests and I let them in because diversity will keep things fresh. Kind of like if everyone is just talking about horses all we will here about is horses. A community is like a small town and many different types on people are needed to make a town healthy and grow. We don't kick the blacksmith out because he only thinks about making horseshoes , where would we get our horseshoes to put on out horse we use to plow our fields. The baker has no interest in the work of the blacksmith but he sure does need the blacksmith's skills to build his bakery.

I guess I'll see how it goes... but I'm not interested in multitudes of things. I was hoping for a homesteader's community. But I'll give it a whirl and see what it's all about. Usually when someone says "like-minded" that means they have the same interests, i.e. Homesteading.
