How to know when a post has died ??

in #steemit7 years ago

Hey fellow steemers, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on when to know if a post has died? I have not been on steemit long, but it seems like a post gets a few hits early on, but then goes and digs its own grave and lays in it. Any tips on how to get more eyes on my posts, or does it require to have more steemers following me (aka patience, or better content perhaps)? Is there an etiquette to re-posting something that I had posted previously?

Sorry for all the questions...any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Get yourself a Resteem buddy. If you post, your buddy resteems it the next day, or the day after to give it more time for exposure. Or you could promote it daily on Steemit Chat or Discord.

Resteem buddy sounds like a really good idea; something to help the process of the post being seen.I have been promoting on the chat board and it did help out. I have not looked into discord quite yet. Thank you for the suggestions!!

;) No problem buddy

Stop thinking about your old posts and get on to the next ones

Awesome advice, thank you. I sometimes get too attached to things. It helps when others point this out. Thank you.

good advice @kriskabiru . personally, i have no idea. typically they are seen recently after posting, but on the other hand i have had some that went ten hours with only a few upvotes and went to over 300 after that. sometimes you put a lot of work into something and then it just doesn't take off. make sure you are putting it in the right community where it will be seen and continue to make connections and build a following.

Very good advice, thank you. I realize there are no shortcuts, but just want to maximize future posts. Thanks again
