Over the last few years, as I have followed the crypto currencies - some have really vaulted in price while most others have cratered.
Many have come to a "dead end" because they were more of a scam to begin with e.g a Ponzi or another "me-too" endeavor.
Others probably meant well and hoped they could "change the world" from the evils of Wall St. bankers, The Federal Reserve, One World Government or the Trilateral Commission but, though zealous, they never really "thought the market through" as in, creating real businesses that can grow from it.
You have to be of service -- that's what makes a real difference.
A few questions with alternative currency, crypto or any business for that matter is what "problem are you solving"?
Why do we need this ?
How hard is it to understand?
Is it easy to use or just another curiosity in my busy life?
Is it safe, secure or is it being run from a Middle Eastern bathhouse by someone working on stealing your identity?
If you can't explain the Steemit concept in an elevator pitch - minute or two - you have a problem. The idea is "evolution without deviation" that way people can migrate to new things yet feel comfortable doing so!
Steemit has solved some of these issues, though their privacy disclosure should be tightened up. Steemit seems very open, informative, easy to use, jump on board, and it offers some intelligent insights - based upon what I have read already.
There are some sharp writers here as expected in this space because you guys are very much on the cutting - or is that the bleeding edge?
Most Bitcoin derivatives fail on so many issues - complicated wallets, security problems, buy/selling in newbie exchanges and, once you get the currency, what do you do with it? Answer: Not much easily for the "average Joe" that for sure, except trade it on the exchanges which is not much different then penny stocks speculation on the pink sheets.
So how do we fix this? Answer: Define or redefine the need.
Make it EASY to buy/sell/use.
Give it purpose . Make it high quality & trustworthy. And most importantly, figure out ways that we can use it as a tool to create new real businesses, tangible new products/services, the same way you would with traditional money. Do this and everyone will benefit.
This was my first post, hope it helps.
