Can Comments be Better Than Blog Post??? See the Results 2 Days Commenting VS Posting Blog!

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

If you’re not planning to make lots of quality blog post on steemit or for some reason you think you cannot do it, then you may be thinking of commenting as an alternative.

You can earn from curation process if you want but I will try to post another article about it. This time, let’s check what happened with what I did 2 days ago.

This was my lonely account 2 days ago:

I know I know, Quite embarrassing right? All you see is “$0.00”. No earnings at all!

So what I did was, I tried to create lots of comments ( let's avoid spamming please!) and tried my best to make my every comment meaningful and constructive as possible. Sometimes I tend to criticize the content for the purpose of the author adding some improvements to it but of course not to offend his writing skills.

I was just simply giving an opinion as a reader . . .

Lesson Learned #1: Nothing good will happen in long term if you just spam comments. You might get banned or flagged by other steemians if you do that bad habit. Please avoid that for your own sake!

This post is just for the sake of comparing whether putting meaningful comments can be a good strategy for those who cannot write articles or post every single day.

Now, here’s some screenshot of my current profile.
Let’s try to see the difference =)
3 days ago.png

So I did some additional comments and addd 1 post + I resteemed a post that I find Interesting.

I got 58 followers, 232 posts, and following 113 people.

On my blog page above, there are 2 posts which are mine and the one on top which is a post I resteemed.

The first post I wrote is my Introduction post (I’m really sorry but I’m not comfortable of putting my picture on that page for security reasons) and the second is about these commenting and posting blog thing.

Let's try to zoom in a little bit:
zoom.png

So I got $5.99 on the second post and $0.56 on the first post as I write this third post. Therefore, I got a total of more or less $6.55! Hmmmm not bad I guess? Yeeehhheeey!!! =D

I'm still a newbie and my account is like less than a week old as I write my third post and I did not use any bots or software to achieve this kind of result. What I did was write what I know and be patient ( I really thought it will be still $0.00).

I'm not expecting it to be this much actually. I'm just expecting it to be like 50 cents or less.

Right now, I’m waiting for the full 9 days and I’m so excited to see what will happen ^_^. (Cross fingers).
I will try to post it on my blog as well for the results.

Now, let’s go to my Comments Page and see what’s in there…
comments page.png

Well, I still see some $0.00 but let’s take a look deeper.
Let’s try to scroll down and see what we’ve got:
comments1.png

Ok, so there's $0.24 and $0.01... small but still earnings :)

comments2.png

There's another $0.03 and $0.02
Yup! So commenting made some earnings as well. Great! =D

Let’s find more of what we’ve got…
comments3.png

That's another $0.06 . . .

Let's go deeper ^__^
comments4.png

Nice! So there's $0.11, $0.03, $0.02 and another $0.03 . . .

comments5.png

Now there's $0.05, $0.10, $0.03 and $0.46!

So yeah! You can also earn from comments that's being upvoted :)
There's still some earning if I scroll down but I guess these photos are enought to prove the point.

Based on these results, I can pretty much say that giving meaningful, constructive and appreciative comments to some posts can bring you income as well.

This must be a good news for newbies specially those who are just starting out with steemit and still confused how things are done in this platform.

Lesson Learned #2: Yes, adding comments can bring you income but it’s still better to try at least post once a day or maybe at least twice a week.

It should not be a very hard task. (I’m kind a busy doing other business too =D). It’s OK if you don’t earn that much at first but be sure to learn something new every day so in the future, you can be a better you.

I’m not yet on the 9th day so things might still change. There’s a chance that those comments might earn more than my post or vice versa but the important thing I want to impart to my fellow newbies is you should never give up trying something new!

We must take every single day as a challenge and opportunity to learn. Unless you do something (writing posts, commenting, voting, etc.) then nothing will happen.

Your goals will not be the one to walk towards you. You should be the one to walk towards it.

Until then my fellow steemians! I can’t wait what tomorrow might bring =D

**********Cheers! Thanks for reading! =D

I tried to make this post as reader-friendly as possible and can be easily understood by newbies like me. I hope this post was able to help you!

Please follow me if you like this post @tiffanyrej

And please don’t forget to VOTE, RESTEEM and COMMENT below =D =D =D

Sort:

Your third post gets an upvote and a follow from me. As a fellow newbie it is great to see that followers can be earned from commenting as well. This was a concern of mine, that gaining followers through comments would be difficult. Thanks for sharing your experience and I look forward to seeing more quality content in the future :)

Thanks so much for appreciating my effort on making my third post ^^. I will try to improve myself so I can write more good posts ^^

Good point, upvoted. Comments can actually give you more return if its valid to the post ...I blogged about it and many other tips in my post...success to you.

yes comments is good how long you can write and explain

It depends on the topic. If it's kind a complicated, then it needs a longer explanation ^_^

Some people reward $1+ per comment they receive too. If you just find the right people, you could make a lot :)

You're right. I see some comments earn way more than that but I'm not there yet. Maybe I haven't find the right people yet :)

Impressive experiment.

Hi @juvyjabian! Thanks so much for reading my post. I still have lots of questions and experiments I wanna try in steemit but that's it for now. ^^ Classes will resume and I'll be busy for school hehe =D

Looking forward to it. Skul muna :)

You may find this useful @tiffanyrej45: https://steemviz.com/pendingpayouts
You can check your pending post and comment earnings on one page.
The only problem is only covers the last 10 (I think) comments which you have posted.

Thanks for letting me know about this. I will surely make use of it :)

Receiving curation is a complement, the platform is to publish your content for more than once a week. But it is important to know this, interacting with the post of colleagues brings benefits to both.

Great post with showing examples. That is a great tip in itself. Thanks @tiffanyrej!

Thanks for appreciating my post @bitdollar :) Here's 1 vote for you :)

I think for some people comments is where they'll find their niche. Not everyone has a gift for writing amazing posts or creating killer videos, but I can't think of anyone who is unable to give quality comments.

Hi @ilovedietcoke! I love it too hehe :)
I agree. I think it's a good way to find a niche that you want to focus on.

I totally agree, plus it's an equal opportunity.

Based on these results, I can pretty much say that giving meaningful, constructive and appreciative comments to some posts can bring you income as well.

This is your key right here. Be constructive and appreciative!

If you add value to the conversation, the person whose blog you are commenting on may become interested enough to come and check out what you are writing!

Comments are the undisputed champion of networking on Steem! So keep at it! You will find you continue to progress the more people you touch with comments!

Welcome to Steem, it's great to have you here!

Wow! I seems that you made real effort reading my post @mikepm74. I really appreciate it :)
I don't have much steempower yet but I would love to give a vote for you :)

No worries about the SP. You'll get there. I want to make minnows feel welcome and happy to be here. You are on the right path, so keep it up! We're all in this together!

Have a great day!!

You evolution is awesome. Keep evolving. I left you more valuable tips in my last post. Stay awesome

And then as you can see, by interacting with the community and engaging in others posts, someone notices your article and you make even more money ;)

Great analysis. Commenting is actually an important part of curation as it is more than just a vote. I'm a writer and I crave feedback, and I'm always happy to get it when I get it. I suspect there are others out there who feel the same way.

I agree with you

A large post can be difficult to do and sometimes it takes a lot of mental effort to even write a comment for me. There are times when I get busy doing other things too. If I have limited time and resources for things spending time on comments does seem to give nice results.

I pretty much agree on the "commenting" part. Be seen! Thank you for the reminder @tiffanyrej !

Great post...tnx for sharing

Hi @tiffanyrej thank you for your post i am also a newbie on steemit and guess what i have been imploring the same tactics just like you imagine i am one week old on steemit and as i write this comment i do have 58 followers,my reputation score is at 39 and i am following 596 steemians plus 14 post and some at least good earning,so lastly i want to suggest this tactic to all the newbies on steemit if they want to grow at a very high rate than what they expected thanks dear once again for this post, lastly i do hope we shall be at the top soon.
