When the SBD price is above $1 you should use the 50/50 option for payouts. This is because the Steem blockchain uses the assumption that SBD is at $1 irrespective of the market price.
So if you have a $20 payout (sometime written as 20STU) with a 50/50 setting and STEEM and SBD both at $2 in the market:
- The $10 paid in STEEM will give you 5 STEEM (worth $10 in the market)
- The $10 paid in SBD will give you 10 SBD (worth $20 in the market)
When the SBD price is at $1 then the 100% STEEM option can be a useful way to power up.
