As an experiment for this idea I will reward the person with the solution 1/2 of this posts total SD received.

CAN CROWDSOURCING TECH SOLUTIONS WORK?
Can Steemit become a go-to for quick and effective tech support problems? These problems can be anything tech related - smartphone issues, computer issues, etc. This could also apply to web developers that need help with code or how to replace a tail lightbulb in a vehicle - the list of problems that could be crowdsourced here on steemit are endless. Right now I am having an android problem that is frustrating and I am sick of searching and searching online through pointless answers. I am willing to offer a reward for a solution rather than replacing an expensive smartphone. Let's say that that someone discovers a tech or life problem prior to going to work but needs a solution by the time they are off work . . . Steemit users could find the problem for you while you are at work. Some of us are just too busy to find a solution and would be willing to offer a reward.

HOW IT COULD WORK
Tech issue is posted with the following:

  1. Parameters of reward are clearly stated
  2. Time frame of solution indicated
  3. The Steemer with the correct solution by the time needed is selected by the original poster through a response indicating that they found the solution.
  4. After payout for the post the winner is rewarded

WHY WOULD STEEMERS WANT TO PARTICIPATE?
The obvious reason is the monetary reward. The second reason is interactivity, further building their Steem Power and being active on steem. Even if a posts reward is simply an upvote by a member it builds interaction - there may be times there is little or no money from the post. Some people great web sleuths and have time, why not get rewarded. What do you think?

MY TECH SUPPORT ISSUE
Android Phone LG 4G LTE
tech issue - for the last couple weeks the top right hand side touch screen is not working on many apps. I cannot post on Instagram now from my phone because the post button is in that area. The area extends down and inch and over about 1/2 inch. What is strange is that I can use that area within the Android photo editor but nothing else.
reward - will be 1/2 the value of this post.
**time frame - ** no time limit

Help me save my phone : )

Hey! I like the idea, it's worth creating a proper tag for though.

As for your problem - it's probably the case more specifically explained in this article: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/06/16/having-touchscreen-problems-with-your-lg-g4-lg-knows-and-theyre-looking-into-it/
They stated that LG was aware of the problem and was designing a solution. Some people claimed that replacing the launcher might solve the issue.

peaking to us, LG confirmed it is aware of the problem but has not been able to identify the cause or potential solutions. If you're one of the people suffering from this apparent software or hardware defect, sit tight - LG assures us it is actively investigating and we're keeping an open line of communication with their corporate headquarters as this story develops.

After some more investigation I found this: http://www.techtimes.com/articles/62417/20150622/lg-outs-fix-for-lg-g4-touchscreen-issues.htm
It states that LG released a fix, but this fix might not solve all the problems... Try updating our android system.

Last but not least: http://www.androidauthority.com/lg-g4-problems-fixes-621631/ states:

To see whether you are facing any issues with the touchscreen, open the Dialer and enter 277634## or 3845#Model# (where model is the version of the device, e.g. 811, 815, etc.) to enter the Service Menu. Go to Device Test – Service Menu – Manual Test – Touch Draw Test – Manual. Now you can touch, tap, and swipe on the test area and watch for any missed touches, indicated by the lack of a red mark in that area.
If you cannot access the service menu, you can also download an app like Multitouch Test from the Google Play Store, and see if there are any issues with the touchscreen.
As far as the LG Keyboard lag is concerned, LG is rolling out a software update to tackle this problem, and this seems to have alleviated the issue. If you haven’t received this update, you can try a third-party keyboard from the Google Play Store, but some users have reported similar problems with these as well.
Some users have found the issue to reduce or go away completely by using “Force GPU Rendering” in the Developer Options. To unlock these settings, go to Settings – General – About Phone – Software Info and tap on the build number continuously until you see the “You are now a developer” message. Now go to Developer Options in the Settings menu, and activate Force GPU Rendering.
For some users that have used screen protectors, the fix has been as simple as just removing it.
For those users finding whole sections of the screen unresponsive to touch, this is likely a hardware fault, and picking up a replacement may be your only option.

Thank you for your speedy response.
Here is what I have done:

  • Dialed 277634#*# from my dialer and it said "Your feature update could not be completed"
  • I looked at the comments in the first article your provided from androidpolice.com and it looks pretty hopeless No one seems to be finding a solution.
  • Lastly I downloaded Multitouch Test from Google Play Store and it is sadly showing me there is a problem in the very top right hand corner : ( This is definitely a hardware issue.

This worked out well. You collaborated a ton of information in one place for me to quickly run through possible solutions. My fears about replacing my phone entirely look to be real. Unless there is another magical solution you are the recipient of the reward! Thank you

Sorry this seems like hw issue, would be nicer if this was something easily solved. This being said, I really like the idea of sharing knowledge and collective google-fu powers here on steemit. On the other hand, to keep content quality for the rest of the site, I think we should somehow isolate this Question-Answer topics in some specific category.

Open to ideas about the category name. Maybe QA or SolveMyProblem?

Dunno, I'm basically just starting to use steemit. Anyway, solvemyproblem seems nice and descriptive.

btw. check this out: https://www.gottabemobile.com/2016/04/28/lg-g4-android-6-0-update-problems-fixes/ You can try using LG Bridge software from LG to update android to the latest version.

Glad Matthew Perry thinks it is interesting
