I really appreciate the new change that was done to the Steemit logo.
It emphasizes the difference between Steemit and Steem. Steem is not the same thing as Steemit. Steem is a Cryptocurrency. It is built on a Blockchain. A Blockchain is simply a ledger or record of transactions, posts, e.t.c.
The Steem blockchain is where all the transactions, posts, comments, replies, e.t.c. are stored.
Let me emphasize that your data is not stored on a centralized server. It is stored on a decentralised blockchain. It’s distributed all over, in a peer-to-peer, decentralized system that is transparent.
Centralized systems are vulnerable to fraud, hacking, abuse of trust and wealth hoarding. Decentralized systems are not perfect, but they are much better than their centralized counterparts in these and other areas.

Steemit is a social media that is built on the Steem Blockchain. Busy.org for example is another social media that is built on the Steem Blockchain. Steemit and busy are connected but they are not the same. This is why you can access your Steemit account from busy.org even when Steemit is down. Your account is not stored on Steemit. It is stored on the Steem blockchain.
