RE: Can a steemian succeed here on steemit without writting about cryptocurrency and using upvote bots?

in #steemit7 years ago

From what I can see though, there is a strategy for monetising this ... I've been reading articles and watching vids about how people have worked out how to do it - it seems to have a lot to do with steem power as opposed to steem dollars or the actual crypto 'steem' itself. There are efficient and inefficient ways to increase your upvoting power, and curation rewards, and some people have discovered these and are actively using strategies to increase their authority which in turn leads to payoffs on the site. It's really interesting stuff.

So, it might be more of a mixture of understanding the fundamentals of how steemit really works as well as good content rather than just crypto-based content. Maybe it's a bit misleading - maybe the crypto people have just better understood how the system works (in some cases) so they're the ones who have worked out how to get more upvotes and how to use steem power to get there, and that's why their posts seem to be doing so well. Maybe it's not the content but the strategy. Yeah, that could actually make some sense...

I found this one interesting: https://steemit.com/steemit/@orionschariot/why-holding-steem-power-might-be-the-best-long-term-investment-of-your-lifetime#@tomwest/re-orionschariot-why-holding-steem-power-might-be-the-best-long-term-investment-of-your-lifetime-20180125t011243107z

and this one was a good basic explanation of the steemit system: (you might already know all this...)
