Considered since May 26, 1974 as a National Park.
This beauty of the scenic landscape has a great variety of destinations to visit, extending through both the terrestrial and maritime zones of the Golfo Triste, located in the Caribbean Sea and distributed between the States of Falcón, Yaracuy and Carabobo.
This park contains a wide variety of small islands, known as islets. To get to these islets can be transported in their own boats or peñeros type.
With its crystalline waters, it delights all visitors who, due to their needs, visit this beautiful site of interest, in which all and each of these small islands have places for resting or sunbathing.
Its name comes from the great diversity of types of Turtles (Morrocoy) that were in this, located largely in the Cature Wildlife Refuge; also, why from aerial view of presence that the island is in the shape of a turtle.
