I also am not ashamed, but a friend pointed out to me that privacy is still important. It's a right that should be protected, and monitoring should be mostly limited to preventing crime. (Some limited data collection for user-experience is ok when kept securely private. It should only be sold in aggregate-form disconnected from identity.)
