Thumbs up for forward thinking :) I can tell you that I currently have about 15,600 steem power, and my vote is worth about $0.17 on a new post with no other upvotes. I think the relationship is super-linear though, so you can't just divide my steem power by 17 and get the right answer. I would have to double check. People have made some websites that try to estimate how much your vote is worth, but if I remember, they weren't really working correctly. As for a 'preferred' way to allocate your funds, I would say it's your personal preference on what you're looking for. If you want a pretty reliable ~10% interest, then you should hold steem dollars. If you want to build up your influence and the value of your own votes (and you don't mind your funds being less liquid) then you should hold Steem Power. You CAN create too much content. Currently if you post more than 4 main posts per day, the total rewards you receive on ALL of the posts will go down. This was implemented to reduce spam. 50 votes per day might be a little high. You can always check your voting power on steemd.com/@hanshotfirst and if it is getting low (for me <70% is low), then you might want to slow down your voting.
Also, you ARE asking the right questions! Keep it up!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thorough response. Wow 15,600! I'm a smaller minnow than I thought. But I'm trying! Honestly I'm not too worried about the interest. This is all found money for me. I might take a little out to buy my wife dinner (for putting up with me) but aside from that, I want it where it will have the most positive influence on the community. Seems Steem Power is still the answer to that one.
Steem Power is the answer to it.
Wow, very useful, I not know how to really check my voting power.
