Because somehow they have an understanding that more comments means more rewards for them. They have no clue that their pointless responses earn them nothing. Sorry for your frustration and I feel your pain. There are time you just want to reach through the screen and smack some of them with a frying pan.
I guess quality over quantity doesn't mean much to most people.

I don't think it does. I have had 6 new 'followers' in the past week. Each of them post YouTube videos (at least 5 a day if not more) and that's it. No Write up, no link to the site, no credit given to the original creator. They are lazy for one, not sure what they hope to accomplish. I mute them and move on, but what really sucks is there are idiots that vote for that, but not for something like this.
I commented and flagged a post made by a guy like that. He started calling me a liar and started threatening me :D I do not like those people.
I know I shouldn't, but I've stayed away from flagging. Maybe when my SP higher and I can take a hit. What is wrong with saying...your content is wrong or bad? Then what gives them the right to retaliate they way they do. I guess they're the new trolls. Don't give me what I want Im just going to downvote you into oblivion.
The worst is they don't even understand why it's wrong. This mentality of everything you can access on the internet is free, is beyond ridiculous. All for a buck.
