RE: Somebody Tried To Tell Me Steem Is Dead

in #steemit7 years ago

I have no problem agreeing with you on the merits Steemit as a social network or a blogging platform. what I am concerned about however is the business side of it. I really don't know if there is a parity between the power of Steemit the service and the price of Steem. That is because users don't have to buy in their way into the platform (which isn't a bad thing, as I can testify) but you need investors. I don't really feel what you are saying about the need to buy steem in order to use bid bots (because you use SBD). I don't really know what drives the price, the only thing I can see is that steem follows Bitcoin generally.

Sort:

This is the price of SBD vs Bitcoin over the last month, it vaguely follows bitcoin but it's clear to see it's doing it's own thing; I don't think it's price is driven by investors as much as other crypto's, it's a lot more driven by users from what I'm guessing, which is a good thin (at least in my opinion).

And you are right, users don't have to buy their way into the platform, but after being here for a while, the temptation becomes too great for those with money to spare.
