It's great that you are getting the discussion going, @ipromote! I've already replied to a few of the idea below, and there are certainly many interesting opinions about what we should change here.
My one (reasonable) thing I would change about Steemit is to have a community manager. We sorely need one person who regularly spends time on the blockchain to answer questions about the future of Steem, and help out where it's needed. Right now we only have a few announcements every once in a while, which is creating FUD for some investors. I think it would be very beneficial for the entire blockchain if Steemit Inc. hired a person to keep in touch with the investors, authors, witnesses, community leaders etc. who needs to know what happens next on the blockchain.
