Great idea. But in a way, doesn't every single post here on Steemit work like a crowdfunding endeavor? At least it could if you fashioned it that way. Members get to support whatever you say. I suppose there's a difference between Steemit and STEEM though.

It would be very attractive for the dev team to make an actual crowdfunding platform for STEEM/Steemit though. The OP's idea is a good one.
