Hello STEEMIT friends !! tonight I want to share with you how to make some beautiful candles as souvenirs for the christening of my baby Victoria Montserrat, in this post I point out all the solutions for you to run your own baptismal candles in a simple, fun and economic way .... .. hope you like it like me !!!
Materials needed:
- Wax or refined Paraffin (sold in stores for crafts)
- Colorant of the tone that you want.
- Bottles for confectionery and baby food.
- Aromatic essence.
- Candle wick (Pimp).
- Copper rod.
Note: In addition, you will need a pan to melt the wax, wooden spoon and a wick (this is where the candle is lit, bought by meter and inserted in the middle, leaving a protruding part to make it simpler than burning ).
Making candles takes some time, but it's not complicated to do it through these steps:
Step by Step to Make the Baptism Candles:
First of all you must prepare the wick by placing the refined wax or paraffin wax in a saucepan at a recommended temperature of 70º C to 80º, and place your wicks to the desired length using scissors. Leave 2 cm extra in each wick approximately
Place a sheet of waxed paper on a flat surface and dip each wick into the wax one by one, holding it for the excess of 2 cm. Place the wicks on the sheets of waxed paper to cool and dry.
In a saucepan place the wax or paraffin refined so that it melts well and you have to stir with a wooden spatula. These elements should only be used to make candles, do not use them for cooking! In my case I put the saucepan directly on the burner over low heat
Let it cool a little the melted wax and add a few drops of the essence of your preference, mix.
Then add the dye, in my case I use the pink color, mix.
Pour the melted wax or paraffin into the jam jars.
Allow the wax or refined paraffin to cool, this procedure may take several hours. Everything depends on several factors, such as the weather, the time of year, humidity, temperature, etc. It is good to keep them in cool places, where they do not give the sun and, if possible, dark places.
Finally the wick is placed with the aid of a copper rod.
Once the candles are finished, it is time to decorate the bottles and the lids, for this I leave it to the taste of each of you .... So to work and add a lot of creativity!
