It has been a few months since I joined here in Steemit, but I've just recently discover the delete button in this platform. I've already seen that delete button before, but I never tried using it, even once. I noticed that the delete button is not available anymore in my post. It's because, you can only delete a shared content without any upvote, even from yourself upvote. Once that shared content already have an upvote, no matter how worth it has, you are not allowed to delete that shared content anymore, but you can use the edit button instead. I usually check the Upvote post, before clicking the POST button, so I can get an automatic upvote from myself, once I already posted my content.
It is still important to have that delete button here in Steemit, even though you can still use the edit button. Since there are some instances that you make some error on posting a certain content. For example, you accidentally share something which is not supposed to be shared, you posted something then you realized that you are not supposed to share that or you have accidentally shared a content, that you are supposed to post in a later time. You can instantly delete those, then post it later or post the correct content, you want to share.
We should also practice to double check and re-review our content, before clicking the post button. In order for us to prevent using that delete button. But, there's no wrong in using that delete button, because we are not perfect and our mind and decisions might drastically change, depending in our mood.

That delete button shown to you is "Multo!" From the very beginning iit should not be there! lol!
