Nice post!
One thing which always bothered me regarding the advertising possibility for monetization is the lack of retargeting, which makes facebook so useful to advertisers. On fb I can easily select the target audience for my posts (e.g. women between 18-34 who liked Victoria's Secret) - on steemit I do not see this happening, thus the platform becomes less attractive to advertisers.

Agree. But I think that in addition year or two Steemit will have. I am thinking long term with steemit. My only fear is @dan not giving enough time and preference to steemit after EOs
