What grinds my gears on Steemit - Tags and Topics

in #steemit8 years ago

What possibly could be wrong with Tags and Topics you say? Well let me explain a couple things that bug the crap out of me.

1. Tags and Topics should be more than one word

It seems like a no brainier, tags should be separated by commas to allow people to tag names, phrases or anything else that has multiple words. I'd really like to just type words like economic collapse or end the fed instead I have to either leave them as multiple tags which sucks because it reduces the number of tags I can use or I have to combine them like economiccollapse or endthefed this also seems silly because no one is going to search for these exact tags.

2. I should be able to follow a tag or topic

Why can't I follow a topic just like I can follow a person? Most people don't talk about the same topics in their blogs but if I want to only follow chemtrails or elections I should be able to do that. This would also allow new post to be seen more easily if someone is following the topic instead of just the randomness that someone you follow might blog about exact thing you're intrested in.

Bottom line is that multi line tags is probably harder to do but following a tag or topic should be easy to implement. Hey @dantheman please let me follow my favorite topics because it really grinds my gears that i can't.

Let me know if you feel the same way,

kind of, except I want the tags to appear in my feeds.

Nice idea about following a tag or topic man @wakeupnd

Uh oh, they may not deem "nature of things," as nature. I just got flagged on my introduceyourself Bart Simpson post. That being said I agree with you but I am scared to vote because I think I lose points or something. Let's see what this comment does. Though, if you want to follow topics.... why not just use the menu since you are going to switch between them anyway? Or a my favorite tags post so you can have it to go go back to? You just want a mixed feed aggregator?

Just started Steemit yesterday. First impression is that it's almost like going from IOS or Windows back into DOS.
Not completely sure what to make of it all yet.
