RE: My Most Incredible Steemit Milestone Moment and Why It Means the World to Me!

in #steemit8 years ago

Before I retired, I worked for the Florida Commission on Disabilities. Spoke to folks from all 67 FL counties, with the worst of the worst, and the least of the least. My congrats to you for taking a hit and doing very positive things because of the adversity. Ain't easy to do.

I, too, am now "disabled." Hip replaced, bad back and knee for the last 50 years...you know, just the normal stuff. But, my fingers still work. Reading your post got me to thinking again about how the internet COULD be such a great thing for persons with disabilities, even severe cognitive disabilities.

About the only downside is that Steemit is highly visual, which makes it a challenging platform for the visually impaired. It'd be nice if we could put "alt tags" on images, to describe the picture in words to someone who's blind, but eager to participate in Steemit.

Hmmm, sounds like a job for "Super Steemer."

Anybody out there fit that description?
