I Don't Know If I Would Sell My Steemit Account For A Million Dollars (Assuming I Can't Just Buy Steem With That Money)

It sounds crazy but if someone said I would give you a million dollars for your @whatageek account, I don' know if I would take the deal. I would think about it but I do not know if I would say yes. You might be thinking, you have less than 10k SP and could maybe get around $20,000 dollars for it (how wild is it that I could can get $20,000 for it). But this could just be the start. What if the price goes up or I continue to build this account (which I will work to do). And as a writer this is a great site for me. Of course if I was allowed to buy steem I would sell it, probably put $250,000 back in steem and open another account with another geeky name. But this is assuming that I can't buy steem or use the site anymore. And I don't know if a million would be a good deal in the long wrong.

Let's so some math. We will say the account has 10k steem in it. The price right now is around $2.30 so that is $23,000. But what if the price goes up to 10 dollars by the end of the year, we are now at $100,000. This can happen by the end of this year. And if the price keeps going up and makes it to $100s a steem, my account would be worth a million dollars. And for every dollar after that, I would be losing money from my deal. This could take years but it can happen.

And that is if I made no steem. Let's say I keep writing and can bring in 20k steem a year. Even at $10, that is $200,000 a year. In five years I will have made a million dollars. Not to mention curating awards, if you are getting a hundred a week, that would be 5k steem a year would be another $50,000 USD. The numbers can really add up.

Plus I am a writer, so this is a great site for me. I can work when and where I want and post what I want. I can work another job and have this one as well. As the site gets bigger, this can be a pace to share your work where you can get a ton of views and get paid for it. That, in it by itself, has a lot of value. You would pay for that kind of attention on another site.

Maybe I am crazy but I do not know if I could sell it. How about you?

I agree with you. I think steemit is headed to the moon and beyond! The posts and the community are great. I think it will possibly replace many other popular online communities.

I think a million dollars now is worth much more than speculation in the future. There is a potential to make a lot of money with steem and it is fun, but there is also risk. No risk in a million dollars. Thoughts? I followed you and hopefully you are interested in following me back.

I agree with that, that is the part where I have to think about it. I think am I just an optimistic person, but it is hard to argue with the risk free million.

Are you heavily invested, besides time, in steem now?

No, I did put in a grand at one point when it was at .15 cents so made that back and then some.

No you're not crazy at all, in fact I think Steem will be at $10 minimum at the end of the year, and if you keep posting regularly -maybe with 1 or 2 that go crazy viral- and Steem price keeps climbing up I wouldn't take the million dollar deal
